Responsibilities

The faculty member will engage in teaching, service and scholarship activities on behalf of the University and serve as an Ambulatory Care Clinical Pharmacist at the South End Community Health Center in Boston, Massachusetts.

  • Collaborate with the Medical Teams at the South End Health Center in the pharmacological management of chronic disease states and other presenting medical conditions in the ambulatory community health clinic
  • Provide consultation medication management to staff clinicians
  • Provide patient education in use of medications optimize patient treatment outcomes
  • Provide experiential education to pharmacy students at the practice site
  • Maintain advanced knowledge in discipline and areas of expertise
  • Provide didactic instruction in PharmD programs in areas of interest and expertise
  • Serve as a member of at least one University or department committee
  • Attend and participate in monthly SOP-B department meetings, University ceremonies and other major events
  • Participate in University continuing education programs
  • Conduct original research and related forms of scholarship in areas of expertise
  • Publish study results, reports and reviews in peer reviewed journals and presents results
  • Contribute to periodic review and revision of departmental course offerings

Additional responsibilities may be assigned by the supervisor.

 

Rank is commensurate with education and experience.

Qualifications

Required:

  • A Doctor of Pharmacy degree
  • Residency and/or fellowship or equivalent experience
  • Eligibility to practice pharmacy in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Demonstrate clinical skill commensurate with the demands of an ambulatory care clinical pharmacist
  • Ability to interact in an inter-professional team and be an effective teaching role model for pharmacy students in advanced practice rotations
  • Have collaborative skills necessary to interact with pharmacy colleagues in the advancement of the goals and objectives of the Pharmacy Practice Department
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Must demonstrate clinical skill commensurate with the demands of an ambulatory care clinical pharmacist
  • Ability to interact in an inter-professional team and be an effective teaching role model for pharmacy students in advanced practice rotations
  • Must have collaborative skills necessary to interact with pharmacy colleagues in the advancement of the goals and objectives of the Pharmacy Practice Department
