Responsibilities

The Counseling Services department invites applications for a temporary Mental Health Counselor to work 35 hours per week through April, 2018.  This temporary position is not eligible for benefits.

 

  • Work under the clinical and administrative supervision of the Executive Director of Counseling Services to provide individual counseling and caseload management
  • Crisis intervention, on call responsibilities and referrals to outside treatment providers
  • Community outreach and education
  • Consult with faculty/staff on the MCPHS Boston campus

 Additional responsibilities may be assigned by the supervisor.

Qualifications

Required:

 

  • A master’s degree in Social Work or Counseling Psychology
  • Current clinical state licensure
  • Experience delivering individual counseling and educational outreach on a college campus
  • Experience working with diverse populations and/or educating students on issues related to pluralism
  • Experience with word processing and MS Outlook
  • Ability to establish and maintain harmonious working relationships with members of the college community
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
