The School of Arts and Sciences is seeking an adjunct faculty member to teach Maternal and Child Health during the Spring 2018 semester. The course will be offered on Monday evenings from 6:00 p.m. - 8:50 p.m.  This is a Master's level course that is an elective for Master of Public Health (MPH) candidates and other graduate students at MCPHS University. The course introduces the principles and practices of maternal and child health. Students will examine the social determinants of health and development of women, infants, children and adolescents.




  • An advanced degree (Masters, PhD, or DrPH) in public health or a related field (e.g., sociology, healthcare or a health-related field)
  • Excellent oral, written, and interpersonal communication skills
  • A commitment to graduate education and the ability to engage and motivate students



  • Previous experience teaching public health courses, preferably in a Master’s program
  • Practical experience in a public health agency, non-profit or other setting at the local, state, tribal, territorial or federal level
