The Assistant Dean of Students for the Worcester campus is integral to the inclusion and retention of domestic and international students, providing leadership, managing key services and functions, and working with staff members to promote and support programs and activities congruent with the institutional mission and student success.


  • Serve as a member of the Student Affairs leadership team for the Worcester campus, participating in related meetings and professional development programs
  • Represent various Student Affairs functions for student inquiries
  • Meet with students and provide support, solutions, and/or referrals as appropriate
  • Assist the Senior Associate Dean of Students with managing and triaging projects and communications for Student Affairs on the Worcester Campus; including crisis management
  • Serve on the Student Support Network comprised of a team of administrators to triage student concerns using a case-management model
  • Assist with the coordination of student conduct matters on the Worcester Campus, including administering student discipline and grievance procedures following University policies and administrative procedures
  • Work with staff to develop co-curricular activities and services including annual events
  • Serve as a Title IX Deputy Coordinator and conduct relevant investigations as needed.
  • Provide leadership in and responsible for the development, implementation, and evaluation of policies and regulations
  • Provide leadership for the effective use of resources to enhance student services planning, student access and success and overall program and service quality, with a focus on success and retention of students
  • Assist with the Leave-of-Absence (LOA) processes for the Worcester Campus in concert with the academic support offices. Meet with students returning from health-related leave of absence or hospitalization to support their return to MCPHS
  • Manage departmental budgets within the Division
  • Oversees the Department of Residence Life
  • Participates in Administrator On-Call Duty Rotation (including weekends, after hours, break periods and holidays)
  • Travel to other MCPHS campuses as needed

Additional responsibilities as assigned by the supervisors.




  • Requires a Master's degree (higher education, counseling, or a related field) and three or more years of experience as a Director/Department Manager in a college/university
  • Requires an understanding of the educational, cultural and social needs of a domestic and international student community
  • Demonstrate the ability to work individually and as a member of a professional team, establishing strong working relationships across campus constituencies
  • Excellent leadership, communication, organizational and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Ability to manage confidential materials and maintain confidentiality when working on specific task or projects
  • A sense of urgency and ability to prioritize tasks and resources appropriately
  • Demonstrate proficiency in Microsoft Office
  • Familiarity with the complexities of international student transitional needs
  • Ability to work occasional nights and weekends
