    The Pharmaceutical Economics and Policy (PEP) program within the School of Pharmacy offers both  master’s and doctoral degrees.  The PEP program develops students who are able to evaluate the best use of health care resources to care for patients, using techniques that include pharmacoeconomics and pharmacoepidemiology.  Students in the PhD program have the option to pursue two specialty tracks in Health and Pharmacoepidemiology or Health Economics and Outcomes Research.



    In addition to standard faculty obligations of teaching, scholarship and service, specific responsibilities may include the following:


    • Develop program curricula and course offerings
    • Assure effective delivery of the respective course offerings of the program, and teaching courses in the program
    • Pursue grants and contracts to support scholarly activities
    • Provide ongoing activity reports of the program to the Department Chair
    • Serve as a member of University, School and/or Department committees, as assigned
    • Attend and participate in regular School and Department meetings, University ceremonies, and other major events
    • Build and maintain relationships with professional organizations, such as ISPOR.
    • Support the development of marketing materials for the program and supporting the recruitment of qualified students
    • Support students enrolled in the program.

    Additional responsibilities may be assigned by the supervisor.

    Faculty rank will be commensurate with education and experience.




    • Doctorate in a related academic field, with sufficient academic experience for the position
    • Demonstrated scholarly research in the field
    • Evidence of teaching excellence
    • Demonstrated commitment to mentoring and working successfully with a diverse student population
    • Excellent organizational and communication skills
    • Ability to work independently and effectively interact with a broad group of stakeholders
    • Ability to balance multiple priorities, meet deadlines and work under pressure



    • Experience advising graduate students
    • Experience with online education
