The Graduate Assistant assists the Associate Dean of Students with daily operations relating to student discipline, student absences, and students of concern.


  • Provide primary support to the Associate Dean of Students in administration of the student conduct system, any disciplinary publications and policies, coordination of assessment of conduct work, and serves as a hearing officer.
  • Learn and assist in utilizing the conduct database, Advocate, in processing all disciplinary cases.
  • Oversee the tracking of disciplinary cases.
  • Oversee and track students not in compliance with sanctions.
  • Assist in the training of hearing officers.
  • Compile monthly conduct report for Provost and President.
  • Assist Associate Dean with annual conduct report for Provost and President.
  • Adjudicate minor level cases.
  • Assist in assessing and evaluating the MCPHS disciplinary process and the code of conduct.
  • Assist in reviewing and editing the Student Handbook.
  • Assist in the campus wide excused absences process.
  • Assist with the campus wide study space efforts.
  • Be available, visible, and approachable to students within the college community through weekly office hours, helps prepare for and attends bi-weekly Code of Conduct meetings, and weekly one-on-one meetings.
  • Demonstrate teamwork, leadership, and professionalism while working with and among the student affairs staff.

Additional responsibilities may be assigned by supervisor.




  • Currently or will be pursuing a master’s degree in higher education and/or student affairs administration, education, counseling or related field concurrently while in the position.
  • Ability to be available 15-20 hours per week between the hours of 8:30 a.m. and 4:30 p.m.

  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to be detail-oriented.
