The Student Financial Services position provides both in-person and telephone financial counseling to students and parents in support of enrollment at MCPHS. The counselor is assigned a caseload of students, and serves as the main point of contact for all financial matters during the duration of the student’s enrollment, from the point of submitting an application to the school to the time of graduation. The work requires a high level of customer service, the ability to manage multiple projects/tasks and comfortability in a high-volume office.


  • Serve as the main point of contact for assigned caseload of students on all matters related to financial aid plans, institutional aid awards, payment plans, university charges and student accounts.
  • Conduct appointments in person and over the telephone with accepted students to explain financial aid, costs and financing options. Document interactions in Salesforce CRM.
  • Complete need analysis and verification.
  • Assist in the processing of federal, state and private loans.
  • Record and manage incoming documentation flow.
  • Generate financial aid reports from Ellucian Colleague.
  • Review aid files for necessary documentation.
  • Maintain consistent correspondence with assigned caseload.
  • Provide first-level institutional collections activities including telephone calls, emails and applying late fees.
  • Discuss billing questions with students and their families and provide detailed information about all charges.
  • Participate in on and off-campus admission/recruitment events.
  • Some evening and weekend work as needed.

Additional responsibilities may be assigned by the supervisor.




  • Bachelor’s degree
  • Two years of experience in higher education financial aid, admissions, registration or advising
  • Experience with complex databases and or CRM systems
  • Ellucian Colleague experience preferred
  • Ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing with students, their families and university employees
  • Strong organizational skills and proficiency using Microsoft Office and other applicable software programs
  • Exemplary customer service skills
  • Complete assigned projects in a timely and accurate manner
  • Ability to work on projects of a confidential nature
  • Occasional evening and weekend work is required
