Responsibilities

The Program Coordinator is responsible for handling all the operational functions associated with the graduate and undergraduate programs with responsibility for a broad scope of administrative support activities which may include any or all of the following and related tasks:

 

  • Manages contracting process with all adjunct faculty
  • Coordinates the process for new adjunct hires and ensures paperwork is completed in a timely manner
  • Coordinates the process for evaluating adjunct performance, ensuring that periodic reviews are performed for all adjunct faculty
  • Ensures that course offerings each semester meet student enrollment demands and recommends and implements new/additional sections
  • Serves as the point of contact for all students including LOA requests, curriculum questions, scheduling questions and referrals to other campus support; e.g., CASE, Career Center, Writing Center
  • Implements, updates and enhances blackboard sites that support the programs
  • Prepares student communication materials to provide information opportunities on campus or externally
  • Provides operational support to faculty program leaders, including coordination of catalog updates, coordination of program revisions, and process for course approvals
  • Participates in department meetings, takes minutes and follows up on outstanding items
  • Develops orientation materials for students and adjunct faculty, schedules and leads orientation sessions
  • Develops and implements processes to track and monitor budgetary expenses for Department Chair
  • Works collaboratively with staff and faculty in the School of Pharmacy and PBAS
  • Supports the Department Chair as necessary to ensure the smooth operation of the Department and Programs

Additional responsibilities may be assigned by the supervisor.

Qualifications

Required:

 

  • Minimum of an Associate's degree
  • 4+ years of applicable work experience
  • Previous customer service and administrative experience
  • Demonstrated delivery of results in a fast paced work environment
  • Proficiency with MS Word, Excel and Powerpoint
  • Excellent analytical and problem solving skills
  • Strong oral and written communication skills
  • Strong technical/computer skills
  • Effective written and oral presentation skills
  • Ability to work independently and be self-motivated
  • Extremely well organized and able to multi-task effectively
  • Personally accountable and able to set and meet deadlines
  • Highly collaborative and strong team player
  • Ability to manage sensitive and confidential information

Desired:

 

  • Bachelor’s degree
  • Experience in an academic setting
  • Project management experience
  • Exposure to database software, such as Access, is preferred
  • Knowledge of Learning Management systems such as Blackboard is highly desirable
  • Knowledge of healthcare is preferred
