Adjunct faculty work directly with doctoral students conducting evidence-based research leading to completion of their capstone/scholarly research.Responsibilities include:

• Instruction and mentorship of doctoral students in the online environment
• Development and presentation of professionally appropriate lectures in accordance with stated course and unit objectives
• Routine updates to course content, readings, and or assignments to maintain relevance of course
• Facilitation of student learning and engagement through online tools, and the features of the Blackboard LMS
• Maintenance of an online presence, including answering student emails in a timely manner, participation in course discussion boards and other interactive course elements
• Assessment of student work, and advisement students in relation to course objectives
• Work collaboratively with the Doctoral Program Director(s) to evaluate course objectives, learning outcomes, and relationship to curricular goals
• Maintain communication with the Doctoral Program Director(s), identifying any students of concern and relaying student progress

Required:

• Terminal degree  (PhD, EdD, DHS, or equivalent)
• Excellent oral, written, and interpersonal communication skills
• 5-10 years of graduate teaching experience

Desired:

• Healthcare, or closely related experience
• Demonstrable scholarship in the health sciences, or closely related areas
• Experience with mentorship of graduate students
• Experience with Blackboard or similar LMS

Physical requirements:

• Ability to appear in video or webcam for online interaction with students
