Responsibilities

Applications are invited for a part-time clinical preceptor in an affiliated community health centers. Four hour sessions will range between two to six sessions per week, per semester, depending on clinic need and preceptor availability.

 

  • Work with 2nd, 3rd, and 4th year optometry interns in a community health center setting.
  • Monitor students at varying levels of experience as they continue to build experience providing comprehensive eye examinations.
  • Spend time working with students, helping them enhance their clinical skills.
  • Grade students on Meditrek for each patient encounter precepted.
  • Confirm at the end of each exam that all medical records are complete.

Qualifications

Required:

 

  • Fully licensed to practice optometry in Massachusetts with an active controlled substance license
  • Preceptor teaching experience
  • Experience with Meditrek student grading software
  • Experience with NextGen Electronic Medical Records
