    The Program Director of the Nuclear Medicine Technology educational program is responsible for the organization, administration, periodic review, planning, development, and general effectiveness of the program.  The director shall have input into budget preparation and provide supervision and coordination of the clinical coordinator(s).


    • Organizes and administrates the educational program to provide continuity of learning objectives.
    • Develops the program's master plan of education, designating short and long-term goals and objectives
    • Administers program goals through general management of financial, physical and human resources
    • Develops methods of program evaluation and assessment to ensure ongoing effectiveness through outcomes assessment and corresponding revisions
    • Evaluates plans for educational delivery of didactic, laboratory, and clinical experiences to facilitate the achievement of program goals
    • Provides leadership in the continued development of the program and its faculty
    • Actively coordinates and conducts the procedures required to achieve and maintain program accreditation
    • Establishes and coordinates an Advisory Board or similar group of consultants, consisting of Program Officials, and representatives of all the sponsoring institution and all the clinical education sites, to monitor and support the activities of the educational program, as appropriate.
    • Assumes leadership role in the development and structure of the program admissions criteria for applicants, and participates in the selection process
    • Assumes didactic responsibilities, and functions within the position description of instructor as needed
    • Participates in faculty/staff meetings and serves on committees consistent with the goals of the program and the university, and advancement of the profession
    • Demonstrates support of professional organizations to promote advancement of the nuclear medicine profession and MCPHS program
    • Maintains current knowledge of educational methodologies, diagnostic imaging techniques, and/or therapy procedures as appropriate
    • Develop and perform research for publications and presentations for the advancement of the field and teaching

    Additional responsibilities may be assigned by the supervisor.




    • A Master’s degree or educational equivalent, doctoral degree preferred
    • Credentialed by the American Registry of Radiologic Technology (ARRT) or the Nuclear Medicine Technology Certification Board (NMTCB) plus the equivalent of four (4) years of full-time clinical experience
    • Proficiency in curriculum design, program administration, program evaluation and assessment and academic counseling
    • Must have compliance with state immunization requirements in order to visit clinical settings
    • Excellent verbal and non-verbal communication skills
    • Maintains knowledge of current principles and practices of nuclear medicine technology
    • Accurate and timely documentation skills
    • Demonstrate management/leadership skills
    • Must have excellent organizational skills
    • Must have knowledge and skills in outcome assessment
    • Must perform well under pressure and demonstrate professionalism at all times
