    The Faculty - Nursing/FNP assists with course planning, implementation and evaluation, primarily in the Graduate Family Nurse Practitioner (FNP) Nursing program.


    • Supervise clinical preceptors and visits sites during student’s clinical preceptorships
    • Select appropriate clinical experiences to meet stated course objectives
    • Assist with the development, evaluation, and stewardship of clinical agency affiliations and preceptors
    • Participate in graduate and undergraduate classroom teaching
    • Maintain evaluative records of student’s performance and prepares summaries
    • Meet with students regarding their progress
    • Participate in advising graduate nursing students
    • Participate in the School of Nursing and other University committees
    • Engage in scholarship and community service

     Additional responsibilities may be assigned by the supervisor.


    Rank is commensurate with education and experience.




    • A minimum of a master’s degree in Nursing (PhD or DNP preferred)
    • Unencumbered to practice as an advanced practice nurse in NH and in MA
    • Eligibility for license in NH and MA
    • A minimum of three years of clinical experience as a Family Nurse Practitioner.
    • Excellent interpersonal, organizational, and communication skills
    • Attention to detail
    • Ability to work effectively within a dynamic team and in a fast-paced, growth-oriented environment
    • Ability to work effectively with a culturally and academically diverse student population
    • Commitment to undergraduate education and student success
    • Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines
    • A working knowledge of the regulations for nursing education programs within the state in which the faculty member is teaching
    • Academic experience including syllabus development, class preparation, test/exam development and item analysis
    • Knowledge of the NCLEX test plan



    • FNP certification
    • A minimum of three years of teaching in a nursing program (master's preferred)
    • A minimum of two years of academic leadership in a nursing program (master's preferred)
    • Experience in hybrid and online course design and delivery including an interest in the adult learner
    • Ongoing scholarly activity that includes research, grant funding and publication
    • Evidence of continued and progressive professional development in the academic and professional communities

    Physical requirements:


    • Sufficient strength and mobility to work effectively with patients/students and to carry out related nursing care responsibilities including lab activities. Examples: lifting and positioning (up to 50 pounds); carrying (up to 25 pounds), walking, preparation and administration of medications (oral, injection, intravenous, including hanging IV bags at shoulder height), bending and stooping.
    • Ability to sit for extended periods of time using a key board, and to ambulate between classes and buildings on campus
    • Ability to be physically in attendance at designated worksite during scheduled work hours
    • Normal range of vision and hearing (with or without correction)
