    The School of Arts and Sciences seeks adjunct faculty to teach courses in Introduction to Academic Reading and Writing, Expository Writing I (Critical Reading, Writing, and Thinking) and Expository Writing II (Introduction to Literature).


    Introduction to Academic Reading and Writing is a skills-building course focusing on preparing students for college-level reading, writing, and critical thinking. Some sections are dedicated to ELL learners.


    Expository Writing I is an introduction to critical reading, writing, and thinking focusing on writing clear and coherent summaries, analyses, and essays. It also stresses the ability to understand, use, and document college-level non-fiction readings as evidence for effectively formulating and accurately supporting a thesis.


    Expository Writing II is an introductory survey of literary genres which builds on skills taught in Expository Writing I, including writing research papers and performing basic literary analysis.




    • A master's degree in English or other relevant discipline
    • A minimum of one year of experience teaching writing at the college level



    • Experience teaching ESL and EAP
