    Responsibilities

    The School of Arts and Sciences seeks adjunct faculty to tutor in the University's Writing Center. The Writing Center provides students with one-on-one instruction in all stages of the writing process from drafting to revision.

    Qualifications

    Required:

     

    • Master, Doctorate, or ABD in English or allied field
    • One year experience teaching at the College level
    • Experience tutoring writing

    Desired:

     

    • A strong background in teaching writing, including research (preferably in multiple disciplines), rhetoric, and grammar
    • Experience teaching writing in the classroom at the undergraduate level
    • Excellent interpersonal communication skills
    • Ability to adapt to different instructional settings, including one-on-one, small group, classroom, or online
    • Commitment to working with a diverse student population
    • Experience (and formal training) working with ESL students
