  • Overview

    Faculty - Nursing FNP / NP teaches and motivates students, and develops appropriate teaching methods.

    Responsibilities

    The Faculty - Nursing/FNP Track Coordinator directs, manages, and evaluates the Family Nurse Practitioner program to ensure high quality of education and works collaboratively with the Director of the Graduate Program and Dean in the following areas:

     

    • Assign faculty teaching, plan clinical rotations of the students while ensuring proper oversight, select students into the FNP program
    • Plan operational activities and recommend needed educational resources for the FNP Track curriculum development, assessments, outcomes evaluation, budget needs, space and other resource needs
    • Promote and engage in faculty scholarship and research
    • Participate in strategic planning and activities for all campus events involving the School of Nursing (SON)
    • Adhere to CCNE, NONPF and other accreditation standards and the Massachusetts Board of Registration in Nursing (MBORN) regulations
    • Create a community of educators with excellence in teaching, scholarship, and professional/community service
    • Actively participate as a member of the Graduate Program Committee regarding all program needs
    • Provide teaching and clinical supervision as needed
    • Participate in service to the College and to the School of Nursing

    Additional duties may be assigned by the supervisor.

    Qualifications

    Required:

     

    • Master's degree in Nursing
    • Current licensure to practice as a Registered Nurse and Nurse Practitioner in the Commonwealth of Mass.
    • Current FNP certification
    • Current clinical practice as an FNP
    • Prior teaching experience
    • Excellent communication skills

    Desired:

     

    • DNP/PhD/EdD
    • Prior leadership position in an academic setting
