  • Overview

    The Program Coordinator oversees the operations of the Center for Campus Life, and focuses on diversity and leadership initiatives and opportunities provided by the Center.  This position is a full-time temporary position through June 30, 2019, and is subject to renewal.

    Responsibilities

    • Support and directly advise cultural clubs and professional organizations to plan, organize, and implement programs and events
    • Work with the Assistant Dean for Diversity & Inclusion to engage faculty and staff in working collaboratively on multicultural initiatives for students
    • Develop, plan, and facilitate cultural and leadership retreats, programs, workshops, and trainings to student leaders and student community
    • Promote and develop leadership opportunities
    • Oversee the student leadership selection and application process for student organizations within the Center for Campus Life
    • Represent Campus Life on various institution wide committees and initiatives, including but not limited to: MCPHS Supports (LGBTQ interest committee)
    • Coordinate and manage the SGA Scholarships and leadership initiatives
    • Oversee and manage the Cardinal Booth, including, hiring, managing and training of student employees and ticket sales processes
    • Oversee the MBTA Semester Pass Program
    • Oversee the student locker program on campus for commuter students
    • Serve as primary supervisor for student employees of student lounges: training, resources, process, and assessment
    • Along with the Senior Associate Director, manage office operations including but not limited to office e-mail, student space reservations, campus calendar, campus promotion of events
    • Work collaboratively with the committees within the Colleges of the Fenway.
    • Assist with Open House, Accepted Students Day, Orientation, Family Weekend, and Commencement.

    Additional responsibilities may be assigned by the Assistant Dean of Students.

    Qualifications

    Required:

    • 0-2 years’ experience working within Campus Life/Student Activities with a focus in diversity and inclusion
    • Bachelor’s degree required, Master’s degree preferred, preferably in higher education administration/ student affairs
    • An understanding of diversity/inclusion and best practices for student development
    • Demonstrate the ability to work individually and as a member of a professional team, establishing strong working relationships across campus constituencies
    • Excellent leadership, communication, organizational and interpersonal skills
    • Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines
    • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
    • Ability to manage confidential materials and maintain confidentiality when working on specific task or projects
    • A sense of urgency and ability to prioritize tasks and resources appropriately
    • Demonstrate proficiency in Microsoft Office
    • Ability to work occasional nights and weekends
